About Dennis Wong...
T.Y. Dennis Wong is an attorney practicing in Oakland, California. He has over 25 years of experience in the fields of business, finance and law. Mr. Wong consults individuals and businesses in understanding and navigating through the legal and financial possibilities and consequences of their energetic choices and actions. His expertise is customizing legal and business structures that best meet the clients' needs. Mr. Wong began the practice of law working for a major law firm in patent and trademark litigation, toxic torts and commercial litigation. Deciding he did not wish to make his living off of the suffering of others in litigation where there is a winner and a loser, Mr. Wong decided to focus his legal practice in areas where both parties can win or they can chose not to engage. To this end, Mr. Wong developed a legal practice representing individuals and companies in business related matters in the United States and overseas. Mr. Wong also provides strategic consulting services on business and personal matters. Over the years, Mr. Wong has been an advocate for Asian and minority owned businesses to have access to the information, resources, networking and capital financing necessary to grow their businesses. Mr. Wong was the former chairman and a past president of the Asian Business Association, Inc. ("ABA"), a 501(c)3 non-profit business association of Asian and non-Asian entrepreneurs, business owners, executives dedicated to promoting economic development through its educational conferences, seminars and workshops. Under his leadership, ABA developed and presented many innovative conferences and programs, including: The Economic Battlefield based on Sun Tzu's The Art of War (applying Sun Tzu's The Art of War strategies to business), The Knowledge Revolution (the emergence of the knowledge-based economy separate from the service-based economy), Capital Markets (venture capital for entrepreneurs), and Generation I... Internet, Information, Investment (growth of the Internet-based economy). Mr. Wong is the co-chairman of the board of directors of The Alliance for Community Development ("Alliance") , a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to bringing high growth businesses and jobs into the under-served communities in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area through the $75 million "double bottom line" venture capital fund that the Alliance and the Bay Area Council established in 2003. Mr. Wong holds Bachelors of Art degrees in psychology and political science from the University of Rochester; a Master's of Business Administration degree in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco. |
