The Universal Law of Balance

The Universal Law of BalanceThe Universal Law of Balance is an absolute or universal truth that everything is in perfect balance with everything else. Nothing is out of balance. The universe is constantly balancing itself. Of course, the balance may not be what you wish or expect to experience, but everything is in perfect balance with everything else. It is when you try to hold onto the energy and not allow it to balance that you run into trouble.

The Universal Law of Balance is like the flow of water. When water is poured into a bowl, the water continues to swirl around in the bowl even after the pitcher has stopped pouring water. The water continues to balance itself in the bowl until everything is in balance and there is a uniform surface. After the water stops moving around, the water level in one part of the bowl is not higher than another part of the bowl. Even when the water was swirling about, the water continued to be in perfect balance.

Water naturally moves from a higher elevation to a lower elevation through the force of gravity. Water is constantly balancing itself. To restrict the flow of water moving downward, a stronger force is needed to hold it in place. Natural or artificial obstructions, such as dams, will restrict the movement of water. The natural flow of water to seek lower ground is balanced by the energy of the dam to holding it in place. But no matter how strong the dam, after a period of time (be it years or centuries), the dam will eventually fall apart from the constant force of the water against it; and the water will continue on its merry way to the sea. Everything is in balance.

Just like the dam is a restriction to the natural flow or movement of the water, your attempts to grab and to hold onto more of something is a feeble attempt to go against the natural laws. If you eat lots of junk foods or rich foods without giving your bodies a chance to dispel the toxins that you have accumulated, if you don’t take care of your body, the balance at the opposite end of your actions can include obesity, heart disease, grout, diabetics, etc. If you try to grab and horde as much money as possible, you may be sacrificing the health and relationships of yourself and your loved ones. Everything remains in balance.

Since everything is always in balance, what type of balance do you wish to experience in your life? Just like eating or drinking too much of anything, holding onto too many possessions, or doing anything to the extreme is not good for you. It is important to keep everything that you do in balance. Leading a balanced and healthy life can give you the experiences that you desire. What type of balance are you experiencing in your life?

I think the key thing is to be on the look out for signs of imbalance in your own system or body. Our body will give us signals when there is imbalance. It can be in the form of aches and pains(tight muscles, headaches, back pain), psychological disorders( anxiety, panic attacks), diseases (from a cold, high blood pressure to even cancer) and a wild spectrum of signs and symptoms. We should listen to our bodies and pay attention to these signals. Then ask ourselves why do we have these symptoms, what brought them on. Then take action to resolve these issues, in order to restore the balance. Change what you are able to change. Accept what you can’t change. Letting go of what is not mean to be.

Good point. We need to be in balance emotionally, mentally and physically. If you focus on one or two but omit the third, we are still imbalanced.
